American bread sucks. Sure, there are some nice local bakeries, but bread in a supermarket within the United States simply does not compare to any of the fine breads generally found throughout Europe. One of my "fringe" benefits when traveling on business is being able to enjoy these better breads, but fortunately, with the Breadman Pro TR875 I am able to make a wide selection of breads from my own home. The TR875 is a two-pound bread maker and it does an incredible job at making a nice loaf of any type of bread.
Breadman actually is a company that is a subsidiary of Salton, a well-known company within the food industry and delivers other great products like the George Foreman Champ. There are a variety of different bread makers marketed under the Breadman label, from different sizes to one model that can bake two loafs of bread simultaneously. The TR875 model can make 1.5 and 2.0 pound horizontal loafs and is designed for home use while carrying a price tag of just under $100 USD. This bread maker also has cycles for making pasta, jam, and pizza doughs.
On the front of the Breadman Pro is a large LCD that indicates the bread size (1.5LB, 2.0LB), the bread crust color (light, medium, dark, and rapid), the time remaining until the bread is done, and the current status (time, pre-heat, knead, rest, rise, bake, warm, and end). The buttons on this bread maker include start/stop, loaf, up and down, color, and menu. The different menu options for the TR875 include basic, French, whole wheat, sweet, super rapid, dough, pasta, gluten free, jam, and bake. This bread maker is very easy to use, but there is a lengthy manual that is included as well to get you started. This manual also includes a few different recipes.
