Norpro Cordless Mini Mixer

Published on July 31, 2009 by Ashley Miller

Getting out that big old mixer (especially one like the Oster Inspire Hand Mixer) just to mix some eggs or whisk something can be such a pain. I hate it when I just have a small job of mixing but I do not feel like wasting all that time mixing when I could be cooking! Why not save yourself the time and hassle by getting a Norpro Cordless Mini Mixer? It is small but powerful at the same time. With four different attachments, you can choose the best one for the job without the pain of using that big mixer, or worse, a blender.

A man named Gunnar Lie who moved from Norway to the US started Norpro. He ran the company from 1973 until his daughter took over for him. Kirsten Miller now runs the company as his daughter and CEO of the company. They create products that are of the cutting edge that is necessary to survive in this tough business of the kitchen gadget industry. Their line of tools range from a cherry pitter with suction base to scrubbing brushes and pizza wheels.

With this cordless mixer, you can use mix, blend, whip, and froth. All of these attachments can be used to mix things together in some sort of way. There are four different attachments included in this Norpro package. A whisk is perfect of mixing sauces, eggs, and whipping cream. The frothing attachment can froth milk that is nice, thick, and perfect for any hot beverage. The other two attachments can be used as mixers for drinks, sauces, and any sort of liquid concoction. These attachments are dishwasher safe.

Each of these Norpro attachments for the Cordless Mini Mixer was wrapped in a plastic bag. There were no AA batteries included so they must be purchased separately. When putting the batteries in, be careful as to not accidentally turn it on when securing the top. This little mixer is definitely more powerful than I had expected. I had very low expectations for this mixer, considering its small size and very low cost, and was not anticipating it to be useful at all. Nevertheless, I think it will be a great addition to my kitchen. It mixed eggs and some salad dressings but I think that is the thickest consistency that it is able to mix. It struggled a little with the eggs, but, when mixing a Mai Tai mix, it worked great. My drink, eggs, sauces, and milk was mixed in a matter of seconds. Now, I personally think you can use this if you are kind of lazy or low-on-time cook. Alternatively, if you just do not want to take the time and do things by hand, this mixer will speed up the process.

For about $5 USD, you can have this Norpro Cordless Mini Mixer for convenience and to make mixing in the kitchen faster, easier, and less of a hassle. Without having to get out your big corded mixer, you save time and space. This little mixer is about the size of my first two fingers and then the attachments. I loved it but do not really think it is necessary for anyone unless you cannot use your wrists. Nevertheless, if it sounds like something that you would benefit from, it is available for purchase at Amazon.com. Its performance is really quite amazing for such a small, AA-powered device.
