George Foreman Grilleration GRP4P

Published on October 25, 2009 by Michael Larabel

Back in July at Foodstruments there was a review of the George Foreman Champ Grill, which was small version of the widely known George Foreman Grill that could only accommodate about two hamburgers, but it offered a bun warmer too. However, for those looking to feed a larger family there is the George Foreman Next Grilleration, which offers roughly twice the grilling surface and its grilling plates are removable and dishwasher safe, for a truly easy cleaning process. Well, at least that is what's advertised, but here is the Foodstruments review of the Next Grilleration.

Salton's George Foreman Next Grilleration is advertised as being able to accommodate grilling four hamburgers at once with its 72 square inches of cooking surface. The floating hinge on this grill is able to accommodate foods up to one and a half inches thick. Besides having a larger grilling surface and removable plates, the Next Grilleration is just like the other George Foreman grills that have been on the market for the past fifteen years with its sloped surface and unique design to drain excess fat, nonstick surfaces, and ergonomic handles. The dimensions for the George Foreman Next Grilleration are 15 by 13 by 7 inches, which is nicely sized for being able to fit on your kitchen counter. The Next Grilleration grill is available in white and platinum color options to help fit to your decor.

The common complaints about other George Foreman grills is that cleaning them can be difficult when the grilling plates are not removable and that these indoor electric grills cannot be submerged in water, etc. Fortunately, for the Next Grilleration, Salton designers have addressed this problem by making the grilling plates removable. To remove the grilling plates, there are latches built into the handles on both the top and bottom plates. Simply slide the handles outwards and the plates can be easily put in your dishwasher or sink. Cleaning the George Foreman Next Grilleration is incredibly easy.

Testing out the George Foreman Next Grilleration GRP4P for a number of weeks have revealed that this electric grill designed for healthy cooking does really live up to its promises. This grill is sufficiently large to prepare enough food for three or four people, cleaning is incredibly easy with just removing the grilling plates and then rinsing them in water and then throwing them in the dishwasher, the collection tray works just fine for collecting dripping fat, the grilling plates are indeed non-stick, and the electric grill gets hot quite quickly (roughly five to seven minutes) and remains quite hot for the entire duration. However, this grill did not seem to get quite as hot as the George Foreman Champ or some of the other smaller versions, which is likely attributed to the removable plate design.

At only $50 USD though (available at Amazon.com), this is a good purchase if you are looking to feed more than two people while wanting to prepare healthy meals.
