Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker & Warmer

Neuro Fuzzy is a very odd name for a rice cooker. In fact, it is just an odd name in general. But to be honest with you, this is the last thing on my mind once I tried this Zojirushi rice cooker and warmer. This rice cooker made the best rice I have ever had -- including the many Asian restaurants I have visited. This rice was perfectly sticky and cooked just right. I do not think I could ever go back to my other rice cooker, even the recently reviewed Oster 5-Cup Rice Cooker, after trying out the Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy.

Zojirushi is a company that was started in -- and continues to be based out of -- Japan. The company first started out making glass-lined vacuum bottles. After their success there, they started to create other indoor and outdoor products such as rice cookers, air purifiers, and electric air pot/beverage dispensers. Today, they are known for their excellent rice machines as well as all of their other products. Zojirushi is now a company that has several different offices all over the world.

There are so many different features to the Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy that I am not sure I can list all of them. However, I am certainly going to try. The pot that holds and cooks the rice can be taken out and washed by hand or in the dishwasher. On the face of the Neuro Fuzzy is a large colored LCD display. When you are ready to cook the rice, there is a list of settings to choose from to better your results. For example, if you are going to be making sushi rice, select the "Sushi" setting. When the rice is getting closer to being done, a timer will show you exactly how much time is left until the rice is done cooking. There are also "keep warm" and "extended keep warm" settings so in the case that your other parts of the meal are not finished you can have the rice ready for whenever you are.

When the rice is finished, there will be a melody or "dinging" that will sound to let you know that the machine has finished and then the rice cooker will automatically set itself to the "keep warm" setting. There are also settings for different kinds of rice: white rice, regular / sushi, softer, harder, quick cooking, mixed, porridge, sweet, semi-brown, and brown. The lid has a convenient spring in the hinge so that the lid stays while working with the inside and springs up with the touch of a button. The inner lid can be detached and washed. The electric cord has a nice retractable cord located at the bottom of the machine. This is very handy when storing. A handle enables easy transportation and storage of the Neuro Fuzzy.
